Tylicz is a separate locality within Krynica-Zdrój municipality, not a city neighbourhood; plan its access and return separately.

Decide first

Beach and promenade point to the Baltic. Island and station define Świnoujście. A mountain promenade, gondola or separate village point to Krynica-Zdrój. A treatment programme always starts with a confirmed address, not a resort label.

Kołobrzeg

The simplest rail base of the three: a central station, coastal Spa District and urban centre. Choose it when the beach or confirmed treatment logistics should fit within one compact city.

Świnoujście

The most complex geography: the beach and Centrum are on Uznam, the Polish PKP station at Warszów is on Wolin, and Karsibór is a separate island. Choose it when island character and deliberate logistics are part of the trip.

Krynica-Zdrój

A mountain base with Deptak, the Czarny Potok valley, hillside Słotwiny and separate Tylicz. Choose by the repeated journey; the available coastal and Krynica figures use different boundaries and cannot support a direct ranking.

Pin the accommodation, daily destination, arrival station and evening return. Reject a base that adds an invisible ferry, final bus or two long legs every day. Only then compare accommodation availability.

Which base fits your trip?

Choose the Baltic when you want a beach, a promenade and a flat town you can walk. Choose the mountains when a slower pace, a spa centre and landscape matter more than water. Within the coast, settle one more question: do you want a single town with no crossings (Kołobrzeg) or a border city of two islands and two rail networks (Świnoujście).

On the coast the problem is wind; in the mountains it is seasonal slope access. A central base absorbs both.

Baltic or mountains for a first visit?

It depends what you want your day to consist of. The Baltic gives a beach, a promenade and a flat town; the mountains give a slower pace and a spa centre, but height differences change the arithmetic of time.

How do Kołobrzeg and Świnoujście differ?

Kołobrzeg is one town with no crossings and a single central station. Świnoujście sits on two islands, and Polish PKP and German UBB reach it from two different directions.

Do you compare these towns numerically?

Only where the data are comparable. Kołobrzeg and Świnoujście share a basis for July and August 2025; Krynica-Zdrój has no equivalent municipal measure, so we do not place it in a numeric comparison.
