01

Choose the travel window first

Separate a pre-Christmas trip from a stay on 24–26 December and the journey home afterwards. Markets may finish before Christmas Eve, while transport, restaurants, shops and attractions can operate shorter hours or remain closed on statutory holidays.

02

Kołobrzeg, Świnoujście or Krynica-Zdrój

Kołobrzeg suits a compact break joining the promenade, harbour and centre. Świnoujście requires a deliberate choice of island and arrival station. Krynica-Zdrój offers a mountain and spa-town rhythm, but the winter last mile, road conditions and lift operations need separate checks.

03

What is known about events

Świnoujście's 2026 budget includes a Christmas market but does not yet give exact dates or a programme. In Kołobrzeg, the official organiser describes a recurring market beside the Town Hall, but the available notice cannot safely be dated to 2026. Krynica-Zdrój's official calendar does not yet carry a December 2026 programme. Recheck every event before making it part of the trip.

04

Arrival and return

Check the complete outward and return chain, the correct station, the final useful connection and any replacement transport. Keep the correct side of the Świna in Świnoujście, account for Krynica's winter last mile, and connect Kołobrzeg transport to the exact accommodation address.

05

Build a winter-weather fallback

Give each day one main objective and one shorter indoor alternative. Do not make the stay depend on a market, mountain lift, ferry or long exposed seafront walk alone. Wind, precipitation, ice and temporary closures can change the plan at short notice.

06

Before booking

Confirm cancellation terms, heating and key collection, holiday meals, the luggage route and the operating hours of essential services on 24–26 December. Check prices and availability with the chosen provider; this guide does not rank properties.
